First Aid at Work Course
Duration – 3 Days (18 Hours)

Course Aims:

To provide candidates with the practical skills
and knowledge to deal with any First Aid
Emergency in the workplace
Course Contents:
By the end of the course candidates will have an
understanding of:
- Legislation relevant to First Aid provision
within the workplace, the Principles of First Aid,
the use of equipment, the Employees duties, Records
and Personal hygiene
Be able to care for a patient who is:
- Care of an unconscious casualty, Method of
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Wounds & Bleeding,
Bandaging & Slings, Head & Chest Injuries,
Fractures, Poisons, Burns & Scalds, Epilepsy,
Diabetes, Heart Conditions, All other work related
accidents / Illnesses, Accidents and Scenarios
Be able to:
- Recognise Major & Minor Illnesses and take
appropriate action, Manage the transportation of a
casualty, as required by the circumstances of the
workplace
Course Outcome:
- To provide recognised standards of First Aid
care in the workplace
- Issue HSE recognised First Aid at Work
qualification
- Compliance with current Health & Safety
Legislation
On successful completion of this training a certificate of attendance will be issued
